Distance as a Concept
1. Actually evolves with time
The journey has taken longer and longer
since the day of departure
with plenty of days
of loneliness and hardship in between
Today the distance between us
still increases
One river can no longer connect us
Only when the Earth rotates at a steady pace
We can count how much an ocean, and how many
continents and mountain ranges are there
separating us.

The distance known by the heart keeps on shrinking
as a loving eye casts a smile on the path day and night
Every mile is decorated with millions of flowers
sweet dreams hang down from every tree and each river bend

Devoted lovers pay no attention to those nearby
This moment rubbing shoulders next gone by many miles
Only the one far away frequents dreams every night
the shortest distance lies between two hearts connected by love
4.
Still, human heart is most fragile, distance as a concept
suddenly renders one in great despair and a river of tears
Sweet feeling can easily freeze into an ocean of ice
For generations, we vow not to part ever again
